Come celebrate Waukegan’s
fabulous lakefront and commitment to recreation and the arts.
Waukegan Main Street, the City of Waukegan, the Waukegan Port
District and the Waukegan Park District present the 5th Annual
Waukegan Harbor Arts and Recreation Festival on Saturday, August
26, 2006 from 11am-11pm at the Waukegan Harbor, Clayton Street
and Harbor Place.
This year’s festival features
The Tall Ship Windy; Bounding Main Sea Shanty Singers; Water
Show with Joe Eckert, National Stunt Ski Champion, Water Skiing
and Jumping Demonstration, and Cardboard Boat Races; Kids
Carnival; a Music Stage with live entertainment all day and a
street dance beginning at 7pm, (bands include the Dave Weld
Band, Tokyo Fish Market); Hole in One Contest with a new car as
a grand prize, Helicopter Rescue Demonstration by the US Coast
Guard, beer tent, food vendors, art show and more!
Admission to event is free.
There are charges for some activities such as a one-hour sail on
the Windy is $20; Kid’s Carnival wristbands for unlimited rides
and games are $10; and the Hole in One Contest is $10 for 1
ball, clubs and balls are provided.
